This is a fan fic challenge community for any fandoms. The quotes in the prompt tables, however, are all from The Lord of The Rings books by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Step One:Pick a fandom. It can be anything, from anywhere. A show, a movie, a book, a group, a pairing, a character. Anything you are a fan of! There is no limit on the number of times one person/character can be claimed. Make your claim HERE (This link will also lead you to the claims table.)
Step Two:ONCE YOU ARE ACCEPTED and not before: Post HERE with your exact claim so that a new tag can be added for you.
Step Three: Give me the link to the table in your LJ so I can add it to the claims table and everyone can read your fics. Comment HERE with your table link.
Write 50 fanfics centered around this fandom you’ve chose. You can use old stuff that you’ve written before, or new stuff. Fictions, drabbles, poems, scripts. Anything is game as long as it is set in your fandom. You don't have to post them all at once. You can do one at a time, or a couple, or whatever you want.
Use this header for all your fics:
Title: Fandom: Characters: Prompt: Word Count: Rating: Summary: Author's Notes:
The quotes are here: As you can see, there are 55. The last 5 are alternates, and can replace any other prompts on the table.
As for the quotes...they are rather general, so they can apply to any characters. You can use the entire quote verbatim, to make it more of a challange, or just refer to the quote in some random way if you like. This is supposed to be fun...so you can make it as difficult or as easy as you want.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any deadlines? No. No rush, no pressure.
Do I have to pick a specific focus? No. You can pick ‘general series’. Or you can pick one specific character. Or a pairing.
If I pick a pairing, does every fic have to have that pairing in it? What about if I pick a single character?
Not exactly. If you pick a pairing, then all the fics must have both characters in it, but the relationship does not need to be the focus of every single fic. If you choose one character, that character must be the focus of all the fics. He doesn't have to be -in- every fic, but the fics somehow need to be about him or strongly involve him. When I read the fic, I want to think about him.
Can I have a writing partner? Certainly.
What ratings are allowed? Any and all. Just make sure that every single fic is rated before the lj-cut so people know what they're clicking on. I use the G to NC-17 system because it's well known. If you are going to use another letter system, please explain what the letter means.
What is the minimum word count? One hundred words is minimum to count as a fic.
When do I post? All a once or one at a time? As you finish them.
Are fake cuts okay? sure!
How many fandoms can I claim at once? If you want to do more than one, you can. But you need to work on both at the same time.
What is the policy on AU? What about crossovers? Anything goes in this com.
Can we post the stories elsewhere that we write for this? Yes. The only requirement is that you post it here too.
Do we have to post them in order? You can post in any order you like.
How central do the prompts have to be to the story? The quotation does not *have* to be in the fic. The fic simply has to at least suggest the word. To make it more of a challenge, you should use the entire quote, but, if that takes the fun out of it for you, feel free to just use the general idea of the quote.
Can I use more than one prompt in one fic? No. One prompt per fic. That way you have 50 fics, which is rather the point of the challenge.
Any rules? 1. NO Flames. I will ban you immediately if I see even a spark. :) 2. Use lj-cuts for anything over 200 words. 3. You must be over 18 to join. 4. No advertisements will be allowed in this com.
